I smell gas !

What do I do ?

  • Do Not smoke or strike matches
  • Do Not turn electrical switches on or off
  • Do put out naked flames- e.g. hob rings, gas fire
  • Do ventilate the premises, open doors and windows
  • Do turn off at the meter control valve (if accessible without turning on a light switch, torch or any electrical appliance)
  • Do keep people away from the affected area
  • Do call the emergency service provider (when you are in a safe area)

For LPG/Bottled gas
NOTE: These gases are heavier than air and accumulate at floor level

Follow the above guidelines and:

Turn off emergency control valve on the outside wall, at your cylinder regulator or on the cylinder.

Emergency Service Number is on the tank, at the regulator or the on the cylinder.

ARGI recommend the use of approved electronic Carbon Monoxide Alarms
CO Alarms are not a substitute for the correct maintenance of gas appliances
